Couple Saves Falling Baby With Mattress
Just like a scene you would expect to see on TV or in movies, a toddler fell from three stories up into a stranger’s arms and onto a box spring mattress.
Thankfully, that is just what happened in Burbank, Calif., a Couple was at the right place at the right time and saves child falling from window.
The two were moving out of their Burbank, California, apartment when they saw a toddler dangling from a window. The couple quickly put their mattress and box spring under the window.
According to KABC in Los Angeles, the husband, Konrad Lightner, managed to break the child’s fall then put him on the mattress for safe-keeping.
The station reports the 3-year-old was taken to the hospital but did not have any major injuries.
The child was transported to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, said Hendrickson of the Burbank fire department.
Jennifer Lightner described the happening as “very surreal,” all the more so considering the couple resumed the task of moving not long after.
“I’m not a hero,” her husband told KABC. “I just walked by and just tried to help. Just something happened and were there.
“We were lucky to be there.”
