The biggest names in Hollywood gather to celebrate the biggest night of the year as the Academy of Motion Pictures hands out Oscars to the finest in film industry.

Newcomer Lupita Nyong’o Takes Best Supporting Oscar for ’12 Years a Slave’ .

Yale-trained Kenyan actress, Nyong’o, 31, won the Oscar in her first feature film role, earning a  standing ovation from the Hollywood audience. She beat fellow frontrunner Jennifer Lawrence’s portrayal of a loopy housewife in caper “American Hustle” in one of the most closely-watched Academy Award races this year.

“Yes!” the actress exclaimed when accepting the award after hugging her brother, “12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen and other actors in the film.

“It doesn’t escape me for one moment that so much joy in my life is because of so much pain in someone else’s,” Nyong’o said, paying tribute to the film 12 Years A  Slave as her character, Patsey.

Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner Nyong’o stunned with a pale blue plunging gown to reinforce her status as Queen of the Red Carpet. She was joined by 12 Years A Slave co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor and the drama’s British director Steve McQueen.

I cant wait to see the beautiful & talented Red Carpet Queen in upcoming films!
